At RRR Services, our Recuperative Care program provides short-term residential care for individuals experiencing homelessness who are recovering from illness or injury. Eligibility Criteria for Recuperative Care
At Regeneration Recovery and Reentry Services, we are committed to helping our guests heal, recover, and reclaim their lives. Our Recuperative Care program provides a safe and supportive environment for individuals experiencing homelessness or living in unstable conditions to recover after hospitalization.

Eligibility Requirements:
To qualify for admission to our Recuperative Care program, guests must meet the following criteria:

Be homeless, in the process of becoming homeless, or living in an unsuitable recovery environment.

Have a non-acute medical need and be medically and psychiatrically stable.

Be free of active withdrawal symptoms and transmissible communicable conditions, including COVID-19, influenza, and tuberculosis (testing required within 72 hours prior to admission).

Be independent with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including:

Ambulating at least 100 feet without assistance (or using a walker/wheelchair independently).

Bathing with minimal assistance.
-
Feeding and managing bowel and bladder needs independently.

Be capable of self-administering all prescribed medications with supervision, with a physician’s clearance.

Wound care requirements:
-
Be able to independently care for wounds, including cleaning, dressing, and managing wound vacs if applicable.

Have home health services arranged for ongoing care if needed.

Arrive with any necessary durable medical equipment (walker, wheelchair, etc.) or have delivery arranged within 24 hours of admission.

Cardiac conditions must meet specific parameters (e.g., EF above 40%; no external defibrillators).

Exclusion Criteria:
Guests are not eligible for admission if they:

Are unable to perform ADLs or medication administration independently.
-
Have significant cognitive impairments or are suicidal or a danger to themselves or others.

Are experiencing active substance abuse or are unwilling to abstain during their stay.

Have highly contagious conditions, including active tuberculosis, MRSA, or C-Diff.

Require intensive medical interventions such as Life Vests, external defibrillators, or treatment for stage 3+ decubitus ulcers.

Exhibit combative or aggressive behavior.

Additional Admission Requirements:

Emergency Medi-Cal applications must be submitted by the discharging hospital if the guest has no insurance.

Hospitals must provide at least 14 days of funding for services.

Guests should arrive with a minimum of seven days of medication, oxygen, and any necessary medical supplies or equipment.

Guests must be informed about the nature and limitations of the Recuperative Care program before admission.
